Student Spotlight

WCS Top 3

At The Wilson Academy we believe strongly in competition. WCS stands for Warrior Championship System, and similar to college football, our top students are ranked from 1 -25. Students are ranked based on factors such as grade point average, school contribution (involvement), and age.

#1 – Tyler Johnson

9th grade student Tyler Johnson has earned the no. 1 WCS spot for Semester 1 of the 2011/12 School Year with a 4.0 gpa. A strong Math and Science student, Tyler will likely pursue a career in one of the STEM fields (although she still has 3 more years of high school). Tyler, whose sites are already set on UNC and Duke, is also one of the top U-14 Girls’ Soccer players in the state competing for the highly nationally ranked Concorde Elite RPL team.

#2 – China Sanders

With a 3.95 gpa, 8th-grader China Sanders is poised to become an Ivy League candidate. China took her SAT’s for the first time this December, and she has already scored well enough to be competitive with high school Seniors! A strong Math student, China definitely has a bright future. Like her classmate Tyler, China also plays soccer competing for the SDY Jaguars, who joined the Select Soccer ranks this year after winning back-to-back State Rec. Championships.

#3 – Jada Day

Sixth grader Jada Day boasts an impressive 3.9 gpa and leads an impressive middle school Warrior group. Jada’s unusually mature demeanor promises to propel her towards a successful future. A Lady Warrior Cheerleader, Jada is a well-rounded student with many talents, including music.
