Students are required to wear uniforms at The Wilson Academy.  Uniforms not only remove the focus from fashion and place it on education, but uniforms also promote a professional attitude. Our unique uniform requirements are as follows:

GIRLS
SKIRT Black Skirt (Must come below the knee)
SLACKS- Black Pleated Slacks (Winter Option Only)* – No denim!
BLOUSE- White Short Sleeve or Long Sleeve Oxford Cloth Blouse
SWEATER VEST- Black Sweater Vest with Embroidered School Monogram
TIE- Wilson Academy Tie                                                                                                                                     

POLO – White only, WITH LOGO – (Designated Summer Days & field trips ONLY)
SOCKS- Black Knee Socks
SHOES- Black Dress or Casual Shoes (No Athletic Shoes)

* Girls may only wear pants after students return from November Break, until the first school day of March.

BOYS
SLACKS- Black Pleated Slacks (No Denim!)
SHIRTS- White Long Sleeve Oxford Cloth Shirt (Boys may only wear long sleeve shirts)
SWEATER VEST- Black Sweater Vest with Embroidered School Monogram

School uniforms for The Wilson Academy can be purchased at Walco Uniforms, or any of the Parker School Uniforms locations. However, Parker School Uniforms does not carry our school ties (Walco does). You can also visit our online store, linked to this website! The website has items like the gym attire, jackets, and other items unavailable in the stores. Students will need the school t-shirt and school gym shirt.

 

Important Uniform Notes:

All parts of the uniform must be in good condition when worn to school. Ripped material, holes, visibly patched articles, and significantly faded clothing is not permitted. This includes shoes. Black belts must always be worn (boys and pants season for girls), and braided belts are not allowed. Students are not permitted on school grounds without wearing the school uniform in its entirety; this will be strictly enforced. As such, there are a few things to note.

  • Shoes must be either dress or business casual, and must be solid black. Below are examples of unacceptable shoes:

  • Skirts must be pleated uniform skirts only. Uniform skirts are not made of a stretchy material, nor are they form fitting. Below are examples of unacceptable skirts:

General Appearance:

Warrior students are to maintain a clean, professional appearance. Hair must be clean, neat, and organized. Girls may not use primary or other non-natural colors to completely color their hair (blue, red, purple, etc.) Small accents or highlights are acceptable . Boys must always keep hairstyles neat, edged, and clean. Dreads and braids are acceptable IF neat, clean, and organized. Below are examples of acceptable hairstyles:

It is impossible to anticipate new trends or fashions. As such, we reserve the right to make judgement calls as to whether the appearances of our students appropriately represents The Wilson Academy. Our dress code is not intended to oppress student individuality; rather it is intended to uplift the natural, professional, and dignified beauty of our young Warriors.
