We just returned from what is known school-wide as The Wilson Academy’s greatest annual trip: Blue Ridge Mountains. Amidst the serenity of the somewhat untouched natural environment, students and staff get a chance to relate, relax, and bond. But what pleases me most about this year’s trip is the fact that I can see maturation in several students. Although the trip is packed with things to do, these particular students didn’t complain about not having a guided activity every second. You could just watch them and see that the trip wasn’t so much about where they were physically, but where they were mentally. And that’s what the Blue Ridge trip is all about.
